What exactly does the visitor counter count?
The visitor counter shows the number of "hits" to a page. A "hit" means a visit to a web page. A "hit" occurs when someone types the address to your page into their Internet browser and your web page is loaded off the Internet and displayed. If someone comes back to the page, or they hit the "Refresh" button on their browser while they are viewing your page, the counter will be increased by one each time. A counter is simply a raw count of the number of times a web page containing the counter has been viewed.
