Accessing Gmail with e-mail Clients

You can access your gmail account via popular e-mail clients such as Outlook, Outlook express, Eudora Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird. For this you have enable the IMAP in your gmail account. It is very simple
  1. Choose Settings from the top Gmail navigation bar.
  2. Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  3. Make sure Enable IMAP is selected under IMAP Access:.
  4. Click Save Changes.
Now open your e-mail client. Refer our step by step tutorial on e-mail client which is available at Email Client under Tutorial Section of this Website. In that you have to set your incoming mail server as "IMAP". The incoming mail server is "imap.gmail.com" and outgoing mail server will be "smtp.gmail.com". Make sure My server requires authentication.
