What are the classification of e-mails?
The e-mail services are of two types
  1. Account based,
  2. Non -account based.
Based on the technology (Protocol) it can be divided as
  1. Web mail,
  2. POP Mail and
  3. IMAP mail.
Tips:
An American engineer Ray Tomlinson sent the first e-mail message in 1971. His breakthrough was the ability to send messages to other machines on the Internet using the @ sign to designate the receiving machine. This method is still followed.
