  • \error_docs When visitors come to your site and request pages that the web server cannot find, the web server generates and displays a standard HTML page with an error message. The standard error messages may inform of problems but they do not usually say how to resolve them. You may want to create your own error pages and upload them in this directory.
Cpanel Hosting
  • access-logs: This folder stroes raw access logs. Raw access logs are text files that contain information about your website's visitors and what content on your website they have accessed. This feature allows you to download a zipped version of the server’s access log for your site.
  • etc: The passwords for mail (and maybe additional FTP accounts) are usually stored in the /etc/ directory. If you don't have any email accounts setup nor additional FTP accounts then it will be empty.
  • mail: Cpanel uses a maildir system, which means that all email boxes and messages are stored as files in folders on your account. Each email address have the new, cur, temp, .Trash and .Sent sub folders. We do not recommend that you change anything in these folders; however, accessing these folders can be very convenient if you want to mass delete a large number of emails or email accounts.
  • public_ftp: The public_ftp folder is used for storing files which are available with anonymous FTP. For security reasons, Webcircuit India Hosting servers logins by FTP that are anonymus are blocked. Even though the folder is placed there by default it serves no purpose. You can delete the folder if you wish since it will not be used.
  • /public_html: contains all files that are part of the website. Any file and folder inside this directory is visible over the Internet unless you password protect it.
  • tmp: Temporary files created by cPanel in various activities. Third party scripts may (but rarely) use this directory for their own temporary files. We always advice you not to play with temp folder of your cpanel, if you still want to delete few files from it please contact our technical support staff, they will help you for getting this done.
  • /www: is simply a link to the public_html directory.
