Which are the methods for specifying the text of an HTML document?
In the text of your HTML document, you can specify the characters in one of these three ways:
  • Use the actual character: ß
  • Use the numeric entity: ß
  • Use the named entity: &slig;
For documents to be viewed from any platform, we have had the best results using the numeric entity for characters with a numeric entity greater than 126. At the same time, set the charset meta tag to UTF-8 in the head of the HTML document.
