I see rectangles instead of letters on the screen. What's going on?
The rectangles are "missing glyph boxes" and mean that the font information to draw those characters hasn't arrived yet. Usually they go away after the page finishes downloading. If they don't, it means that characters are missing from the PFRs for that page. If this is occuring on a page that you have visited before, you may be able to correct the problem by holding down the Shift key on your keyboard while clicking Reload on the Netscape Communicator 4.x toolbar. To view the page using system default fonts, you can turn off dynamic fonts. If this is occurring on a page you are creating, see our tips for authors for ways to prevent this from happening.
