FTP - File Transmission Protocol

I've uploaded my files but my site is not coming up in my browser. Why?
When you use FTP to access your account on our servers, you will see 3 to 4 folders. You need to upload all your files to the
  • "wwwroot" directory in WebsitePanel Hosting
  • "httpdocs" in Plesk Panel Hosting
  • "public_html"in cPanel Hosting
Make sure your main page (the first page you want people to see when they visit yoursite.com) is titled as any one of the following according to your programming language.
  • index.htm
  • index.html
  • index.php
  • default.asp
  • default.aspx
After you've uploaded your files, you can access your website with your temporary URL provided in your 'Hosting Account Info Doc'. After your domain name points to our DNS numbers, you can access your website with your domain name.
If you haven't done as above, you may not be able to view your site.
Tips:
You can use index.htm, index.html, index. asp, default. asp, default .php etc as your main page. You can set these in your hosting control panel. Refer your hosting manual for more information.
